Carl Latkin Receives Grant for COVID-19 Research

Carl Latkin

Carl Latkin, Ph.D., a professor of medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, is a recipient of a grant from the COVID-19 Vaccine-Related Research Fund, JHU COVID-19 Research Response Program, funded by the Bentivoglio Family Fund. For his project, titled "Developing and Evaluating Messaging Strategies to Increase COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake among Black Adults in the United States," Latkin will assess vaccine attitudes and beliefs among minority adults, while developing messaging strategies based on these findings to increase vaccine uptake and vaccination intentions among racial and ethnic minority adults. The results will be translated into guidance and toolkits that will be given to public health entities to help them inform their vaccine roll-out programs.
