Maria Trent, M.D., M.P.H., a professor of pediatrics and director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program, has been chosen as Amberg-Helmholz Named Visiting Professor in Child Health and Welfare by the Mayo Clinic. Trent was given the honor for her work advancing pediatric engagement by addressing racism as a social determinant influencing child health disparities in the United States. During Pediatric Days at the Mayo Clinic, Trent gave a virtual keynote speech titled "The Impact of Racism on Child and Adolescent Health."
