Mouen Khashab

Mouen Khashab, M.D., an associate professor of medicine, has received a Master Endoscopist Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Khashab has been involved with the ASGE for 12 years, beginning as editor of The Fellows’ Corner section of the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Since then, he has served on multiple ASGE committees, including the Standards of Practice Committee and the Medical Simulation and Educational Technology Committee. Over the past 10 years, he has published more than 460 peer-reviewed papers in the field of therapeutic endoscopy. His research has focused on interventional endoscopic ultrasound, submucosal endoscopy/peroral endoscopic myotomy, and novel procedures and techniques. Nonetheless, he says, "My main contribution to the field has been training and mentoring a large number of superb therapeutic endoscopy fellows, who are already putting their respective marks on the field of endoscopy."
