Nisha Gilotra

Nisha Gilotra, M.D., an associate professor of medicine, Division of Cardiology, has received a Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome Discovery Fund Grant from the JHU COVID-19 Research Response Program, Therapeutics Team, funded by the Bentivoglio Family Fund. For her project, titled "Myocardial Involvement in Post-Acute COVID Syndrome," Gilotra will leverage the Johns Hopkins Post-Acute COVID Team (PACT) Clinic to perform comprehensive, structured assessments of patients recovering from COVID-19 to determine the prevalence of myocardial dysfunction and probe determinants of persistent myocardial dysfunction. Her goal is to develop multidisciplinary collaborative strategies for cardiac screening, risk stratification and tailored therapy to decrease cardiovascular morbidity in COVID-19.
